Anonymous usage telemetry (opt-out)

KopioRapido collects anonymous, aggregate usage statistics to understand which platforms and transfer methods people use, how often the tool is used, and how much data flows through each transport. This is what makes honest performance work possible — we build benchmarks from real usage, not guesses.

What is sent (a tiny, batched ping — at most a few KB per day):

• A random install id (a UUID created on first run — not derived from any hardware, not linkable to you, and rotated whenever the config directory is removed)
• The app version, platform (e.g. win-x64), OS family, and how it was installed
• Aggregate counters: command invocations per type, and bytes/files per transfer method (local, p2p, s3, internxt)
• Installed plugin names (e.g. p2p)

What is never sent: file paths, file names, IP addresses, hostnames, peer aliases, connection keys, email addresses, or anything that could identify a person or a machine. No per-file records — only daily totals.

Opting out

Telemetry is off for good with either of:

kp config set telemetry off
# or
export KP_TELEMETRY=off

No data is sent when telemetry is disabled, and nothing is stored locally beyond the install id + pending counters in <config>/kopiorapido/telemetry.json.

Download analytics

The download server counts archive downloads and infers the operating system, architecture, and install channel (homebrew, scoop, chocolatey, winget, direct) from the request user-agent. IP addresses are never stored.

Contact form

Messages submitted through the contact form are sent to our inbox and stored briefly for support record-keeping. Your name and email are used only to reply to your message and are never shared.
